The CFMEU has notified BG Group that the union is planning a strike at the company’s QCLNG plant at Curtis Island near Gladstone this Thursday 7th August.
The union – one of the four unions representing workers on the coal seam gas to LNG project – gave notice to contractor, Bechtel, last Thursday of its intent to take protected industrial action.
In a statement BG Group said it was not aware of the scope or duration of this proposed industrial action, and, “As such, there remains no change to the current expected first LNG date from the QCLNG project in the final quarter of 2014.”
