Fairfield Quarry fatality A mine worker has died following critical injuries after becoming entangled in a conveyor at the Fairfield Quarry in Central Queensland.
The mine worker sustained severe injuries to his head and leg in the incident at the Fairfield Quarry site on the Peak Downs Highway at Wolfang, near Clermont, about 11.20 am on the 5th November 2018. It is believed that guards were removed from a conveyor when the quarry incident occurred.
A police spokesman said a report will be prepared for the coroner.
It’s expected the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (Queensland Mines Inspectorate) will investigate the Fairfield quarry fatality and pursue an action against the Quarry owner in due course
