The National Transport Commission is undertaking research to examine heavy vehicle driver fatigue.
The organisation is looking for more heavy vehicle drivers to take part in a research project, in collaboration with industry and governments.
The National Transport Commission is working with the Cooperative Research Centre for Alertness, Safety and Productivity to evaluate the impacts of the heavy vehicle national law on driver fatigue.
The research is being conducted due to a lack of comparable data, and data in general, on the risks associated with fatigue and heavy vehicle driving.
The research phase of the project will be completed at the end of the year, with the findings presented to transport ministers in May 2019.
